The Outspan Medical College Mentoring Programme was rolled out in June, 2010 when the Executive Director appointed a committee to facilitate the start of a coordinated College Mentoring Programme, targeting all students, from all disciplines. Among other goals, the Executive Director expected that the programme will help all students and more particularly the first years to settle down faster in the college life, as well as make informed decisions concerning their social life and career achievement, early in their college life in Outspan Medical College.  It was also envisaged that mentored students would lead a more fulfilled life while in Outspan Medical College as well as in their post-college life.


The programme is coordinated by the Dean of Students Silas Muguongo Githinji, who is also the head of department of Medical Laboratory Sciences.  Staff mentors are drawn from fulltime members of academic staff in all disciplines, as well as College senior administrators.  The programme has clear vision, mission and objectives as follows:
