The job holder will be responsible for managing the Learning Management System for Outspan Medical College through ensuring effective integration of technology into teaching, learning, and assessment, support academic staff and learners, and drive innovation in the use of educational technology.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing support within the e-learning department i.e. providing technical support to external and internal clients, and administrate the Learning Management System (LMS) accordingly.
- Supporting the e-learning design team in creating assessments as required, as well as uploading content and resources to the LMS.
- Handle creation and maintenance of internal and external user accounts, reports, and other LMS admin duties.
- Provides first line support to customers on the use of our LMS and online products.
- Providing training and compliance reports.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Bachelor degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, ICT in Education, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in e-learning management and instructional design.
- Proven experience leading digital learning initiatives at institutional level. DSpace.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Proficiency in LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas).
- Knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM).
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train and motivate academic staff and students.

- Administer library applications in the University server,
- Managementof digital library collections including an institutional repository, Training staff and students on the use of library systems and software’s,
- Maintaining the Library computer software and hardware,
- Maintaining the Library website and database,
- Troubleshooting of hardware, software and LAN in the Library,
- Checking information resources in and out of the Library,
- Processing information resources for placement on the shelves,
- Assist students and staff to effectively use the Library’s catalogue, Managing the digital collection and electronic resources.
- Maintain the Library hardware and software inventory
- Preparing usage reports to management
- Formulation and Implementation of policies and procedures in the area of systems development and administration in the library
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Sciences with specialization in Information Technology or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computing Science with Diploma in Library and Information studies.
- At least Three years working experience as a Systems Librarian preferably in an academic institution set up.
- Be conversant with Library Management systems KOHA and DSpace.
- Competency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to update, upgrade and manage the Library systems (KOHA and DSpace)
- Competency in Linux administration
- Good working knowledge in apache, SQL, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Knowledge of scholarly publication, research and copyright issues
- Knowledge on management of digital content
- Working development and management of websites
